Team Hot bodies Win again in the Chinese National (reporter: Felix Law) Special thanks to Jet hobby HK for bringing 2 of the best HB drivers to this race, Benny Fung (Stick King) & Felix Law both gaps the title in 1/10 on road & 1/10 off road class. In 1/10 on road, Benny Fung (Stick King) along with the other Chinese HB driver cover a good position in the A main. There were total of 6 Hot bodies TCX in the final, the only chassis that’s cover over 50% of the field. Stick King was using the special (Jet edition) TCX which included all of the Jet racing aluminum parts to insure the dualities of his chassis. Stick King was able to gap 4 of the 6 round TQ, Due to the rule of the TQ, its base on the fastest lap, Stick King was able to get 20.572 as his fast lap & took the title. In the 1st final, Stick King had a bad start, Salton Dong from Yokomo quickly took over the lead, it seems that Stick King’s car had something broken, but it wasn’t the case. The reason for the handling was because the nitro final were just over, the traction were improve dramatically, Stick King were not use to the traction & roll over a few time, but 1 min into the race, he start to feel the car again & make a dash, in the 3min mark, Stick King went from 6th place back up to 1st. With 2 min to go, Stick King continues to pull away from the pack, in the end of the race, Stick King were able to have 5 sec lead over 2nd. The 2nd final, the traction wasn’t great anymore due to weather, But Stick King’s car was still fast, he was able to have a good start this time while Wang Hai Fung made hard dash to 2nd at the start. Stick King continue to have 2 sec lead over 2nd, in the 3 min mark there were a dead car in the end of the straight, Stick King didn’t see it & crash into it, Stick King’s car stopped for a sec & move again, but you can see some things wrong with his car, Now the battle between 1st & 2nd is only 1sec apart while Wang Hai Fung closing in. at this time, the Weather play games again & start raining, both car were starting to slow down while Salton Dong start catch up to 3rd. But in the end, Stick King were able to keep his pace & finish 1st while Wang Hai Fung finish 2nd only 1sec behind & Salton Dong 3rd. Stick King want to thanks Jet Racing for supporting him for this race, Salton Dong from Hobbywing for all the speed control setting, The entire HB team, specially Felix Law for sharing & testing Chassis setup during the race, this insure him to have a well setup car in the main./ In 1/10 off road, Felix Law was the only driver driving the Hotbodies D4 to compete at the national. Due to the rule in china, Felix was misunderstood with the rule & brought a Short Course to the race, but at the last minute, Xiang Ke model from Beijing gave Felix a brand New D4 to race in the national. On Monday night, Felix & Stick King built the car till 6am in the morning, and then within a few hours, they head to the track for their first qualifier. After they got to the track, they found themselves missing tires. Due to the stocks of most Beijing’s hobby shops, finding 1/10 buggy tires are extremely hard. Felix Law had to modify his Short course tires to fit on his 1/10th buggy to complete in the qualifier. Due to the overly odd looks of Short course tire on the 1/10 buggy, many drivers made a complaint to the judges. The judges took the consideration of Felix wasn’t able to find tires and allow him to finish the 3 qualifier with only the same set of tires. Luckily on the final day, one of the fellow racer was able to find a set of 1/10 buggy tire left over from his home & gave it to Felix. Many Driver complaint about Felix’s lap time benign too fast for 1/10 buggy due to the short course tires, but during the final, Felix Law once again dominated the field with a surprising performance. With roughly 3 sec per lap faster than his qualifying time, Felix Law was able to prove his driving was the key to win. Felix Law’s fast lap in 1/10 buggy were also the top 5 of the day over any vehicles include 1/8 buggy & Truggy. Felix Law wants to thanks Jet Racing for supporting him for this race, Xiang Ke Model for giving him a car at the last minute, Stick King for all the help to be able to compete at this event.
