Please advice as I am thinking of purchasing 05+

Hi guys,

I am quite new to R/C cars, your help would be much appreciated

I was originally thinking of purchasing an electric 1/10, however as I went to KWS, the salesman showed me the kyosho 05+ ready to run kit, for 19xx I can purchase a gas powered one, of course the salesman is going to say its a brilliant piece of kit, however I would like to have some advise from you guys as I realise how good you all are after reading through the forum.

I would like to know

Is the car any good?
How upgradable is it? i.e are there many parts available for future upgrades?
What else do I need after purchasing the 05+?
How much approximately would the total cost for the tools?
Which shop is the best to purchase from?

All right, RC hobby is a good one, and there is always nothing harm to play ...

I think U need to figure out something that U preferred, before buying the RC cars :
-  what sort of car do U like?  Gas or Electric?
-  what type of car do U want?  touring, rally, buggy, monster truck or truggy?
-  what is your overall budget for buying 1 complete set of RC car?  

I would say the FW05T+ is relatively good for beginner as it is an assembled kit with receiver and transmitter, even the glow plug battery I suppose.  It also has some new shells lately ...

you're going to buy a GP(Gas power) car, the 05+, full named FW05T+, is very worth to buy, for you as a beginner, many people will suggest u to buy 05T+, since it's a RTR, you only need to buy nitro fuel and some AA batteries for the transmitter and the receiver and you can go.
but if you want to buy a car to assembly by yourself, V One S3 is suitible for you
The "Main" point is the Budget!

Is the car any good?
Yes. it a RTR. very good for beginner.!
How upgradable is it? i.e are there many parts available for future upgrades?
there are many parts that you can upgrades... you can upgrade your car from 05T+ to 05RR! huge of parts for 05, no need to worry about that!
What else do I need after purchasing the 05+?
fuel, the fuel for the car. and some spare parts and some AA batteries
How much approximately would the total cost for the tools?
tools? you mean those screew driver? or something else?   
Which shop is the best to purchase from?
sorry bother, i'm from Macau. not a HK ppl.. so i can't help you with this question.

RTR road car is definately what I would like to go for, is that all I need, just some spare parts and battery and charger, everything else comes with the 05+?

Also are there any tracks in HK that would be ideal for beginners?

*Fuel, 12 x AA-sized batteries for R/C system and 2 x D-size batteries for Plug Heater are sold separately.

so what you need to buy also is the "Fuel, AA-sized batteries, D-size batteries" and that's all

spare parts: tyries and glow plug....

I see, therefore all the spare parts should be relatively cheap and there wouldn't be a great deal of parts I would need to get, seems pretty reasonable for a beginner's package! I shall go pick one up by the end of this month!
