Yes. They give more steering.

1) so the AE86 chasis is even narrower than the ferrari?
2) do batteries pop out in heavy collisions?

it's always amazing to see your work, i still remember the lipo version and the mr02 AE86 of yours.

1. Yes
2. Anything can happen during a 'heavy' collision but I added some plastics to the inside of the body shell to secure the cells on both sides. The 2 cells at the centre of the chassis, luckily,  don't usually move.
