Torque Steer

有冇邊位師兄都有呢個問題, 如果換左頭單, 係唔係好D?

since wikipedia is copy right free, here is what I copied:

"Root causes for torque steer are:[1]

Incorrect sidewall ply design allowing deformation of the tire sidewall.[2]
Nonsymmetric driveshaft angles, e.g. due to
Nonsymmetric design of the vehicle, e.g. different driveshaft length
Transient movement of the engine
Tolerances in engine mounts
Different driveshaft torques left to right
Suspension geometry tolerances
Unequal traction forces due to road surface (µ-Split) in combination with kingpin offset
Open differentials may not equally distribute the torque between the two driveshafts, due to friction in the side gears etc. The same will be seen if a limited slip differential is used. Either way there is a tendency for the slower wheel to receive more torque. "

Among all this , the last one seems the most possible for an AWD.

係呀, 呢個係軸車嘅問題. 有乜好方法解決? 聽人講裝左頭單會好D, 有冇人有o甘嘅經驗?

My point was:
If you are talking about an Kyosho AWD, check whether you have 'locked' one of the wheels with a lock nut. If you are using very old or damaged rims, it is very possible that the lock nuts can push it till it touches the ball bearing and causes excess friction on one side.

師兄, 其實我已經試過好多唔同setting, 轆nut鬆o左至試, 都係右灣明顯推頭過左灣好多, set到唔知點算好. 我見你架車勁改, 電池兩邊放, 造出理想嘅平衡效果, 真係好正!

How can you really try your car without tightening the lock nuts?

Billy兄咁問係因為正常上緊左nut係唔會鎖死個bearing...
明顯係你個鈴wearout左, 或你既狗骨有問題...

你用咩尾擔, 狗骨, 鈴?

You said you "上緊後鬆1/4圈" and that's where the problem lies. You should tighten it instead.

I don't know about atx U-joint. All I know is that the u-joint should be a little longer so the 'click' comes out as in the following photo.

睇落我架車支萬向都係差不多, 但點解我上緊絲母後, 個萬向同個轆就夾死個bearing?

Check the inside of the wheel. Is it flat?

The red circles indicate the notches. One reason for causing this is the metal lock nuts. I prefer the original plastic ones.
