1/15 Bandai Tiger 1 with Tamiya hop-up

1/15 Tiger 1 from Bandai. Surgically transplanted a Tamiya twin clutch gearbox and turret drive. Metal track. Road wheels modified with metal tube bushing. 6 channel radio.

Forgot to mention, I put in ball bearings into all gears in the main gearbox. Took a lot of work but worth it lah.

That looks brilliant mate, have u transplanted the tamiya cannon recoil unit in as well?

no 1/8 Tiger but still have that 1/10 Tiger, still very slow....

Not scratch build. German website has some not so good quality stuffs which I am not willing to purchase

Does the stock gearbox come with bronze brushings but no bearing?  Just curious how you put bearings into the gearbox?  Any close pix?

It has no bronze bushing. The surgery was simple: bore out the gears and place bearings into them. A lot of time though.

Bandai has a series of 1/15 RC tanks. More than 20 years old already. Disappeared from the market in the early 90s and then re-issue in 1996. They have been available since 1996. Tiger 1 was by far the most detailed one but the original gearbox were very 'plastic', not really for RC. That was why I made the conversion.

May I know where I can buy Tamiya's  turret drive kit?  I also got a Bandai 1/15 Tiger. The original kit is too simple in operation. Thanks.

If you try ebay (not the HK one) ppl usually sell Tamiya parts on there.

Try ebay, try here. Just a few days ago someone was trying to sell off a 1/16 King Tiger with almost everything. Good luck.
