if I were you, I'll try 6.3 gear ratio for the 13.5R first, then go lower for increased speed if necessary. beware of ESC overheat if you go too low, say 5.8 gear ratio.
you may feel less punch after you switch to brushless at the very beginning, but longer run time, more important, brushless is maintainance free, motor seldom overheats, but ESC can, so you may consider to put you fan over the ESC instead

Thanks for the information. I heard that the brushless motors have more torque than the traditional ones...
I think I don't need too low gear ratio as the indoor carpet racetrack doesn't have much space for you to get full throlette.
