Just bought 2nd hand RRR (3 racing options and never run as told) + new old engine OS CV-R .15.
Any ching have experienced in running OS CV-R 15 engine? Anything good? A bit worry about setting the 2 speed transmission clutch, my new experience....
I see. Bought it at clear stock price and gonna to own a 'previous generation' super car to learn the setting and control at non-super price. Not a racer (yet) and good enough for now, good to know what to improve, thanks for advise!
Last night bought a non-used 2nd hand pipe, blue OS T-1000 but couldn't find info from web.
Ching, any comment on 3 racing options...?!?!?! I guess the previous owner go 'upgrading' to 3 racing option from original plastic parts. Don't tell me it's down grading
It's a RRR WC Team Edition armed with 3Racing options...checked from RRR instruction manual and 3racing online shops. Anyway, pro enough for upgrading my rc experience la....3D clutch, 2 Speed Transmission and my converting/downgrading it to side exhausted eng
My 1st day start up the engine, spent considerable time to fix
- flywheel in motion but not the engine, fixed by tightening up the clutch screw nut connecting to the engine rod, add more washer in between clutch shoe and clutch screw nut, reduced washer of the outtermost screw nut accordingly;
- startup box motor screw loosen after a few trial and fixed;
- add 1 more 7.2v battery pack to starter as original one pack config. not powerful enough;
- long waiting for starter batteries charging one by one.....turn out be my lunch break!
- remote control (no fail safe option) battery level low;
- found the servo will open up the throttle if running short of battery power...
- continue to run in after 1st half tank in open area but trrible things happened...after a few meters full run servo short of battery or singnal -> throttle open up to 3/4 and doing donut spinning at top speed at one point -> the noise attracted more n more people around and no choice to stop it by blocking the exhaust port by shoe....
- lucky that no damage to the car and engine
- full charging all batteries before next open area engine break-in!
- consider to upgrade to fail-safe gear like my nitro buggy to play safe
Any Ching has out-of-battery/signal incidents like this? Great power needs great control...
- flywheel
1) Did you use flywheel clutch tools to tight your cone?
2) upgrade to 2.4G control.
3) Normally 1 pack of nimh 5cell receiver battary should support up to 1 hr running time.
Make sure your receiver battary pack are in good condition and no dead cell.
No clutch tool a try and fine tune approach...
Already in 2.4g control, just bad practice not to renewal battery event low battery alarm was on!
Really good advise to me on the receiver 5 cell pack average life. It's new to me and will get a proper charger instead of my modded 5V one (thought measured 6v level output)...
All in all, it's electric parts didn't get well prepared ...
Finshed 2nd tank for engine break-in, fine-tuned clutch and 2-speed looking good.
Re-cycled the old Tamiya RX-7 190mm and surprising fit in the RRR!!
Next time would be out-door break-in....the 3rd tank!!Wondering if my 80% new body shell for TB03 would eventually applied to RRR too?!?! So much fun with it!!!
4th tank today...outdoor break-in.
Fun but rear left arm and suspension bush broken in a mild crash....no structural damage, easy fix but need to buy parts, nice weather today.
Engine is a discounted product for clearance, good bargain & no complaint. The pipe is 2nd hand and really no experience about pipe matching... I'm not a racer yet and don't gonna to invest too much on this...otherwise had bought a engine+pipe set following shop keeper's advise la.
