The side damper that you use cannot function in both direction. It is better to use silicon tube damper. The DELTA damper is a kind of pre-compression damper. It can only function in one direction and rebound in normal condition. If you remove the internal compression spring and the o-ring ( the internal spring, washer and the o-ring is to provide a movable sealing so that it can compensate for the increased volume when the shaft beign compressed into the damper tube ). There will have leakage as there does not have o-ring to seal the shaft. Or you can use 2 damper so that it can function in both direction.
