yes surely need awd !
the drift tire just about $30-40 ! very cheap !

bearing
kyosho's spring [as you like !]
camber [as you like too!]
tie rod toe in 2 for rear ,0 degree for front
motor [i use kyosho's x-speed (more torque)]
drift tire !

some people said that the car more easy to drift when all things were original , but as you like everyone's finger are different , right ? =]
