Finally solved the problems of the 2.4GHz PCBby simply using the plug-in software to switch off the V-inertia. But another problem arises as there is no stock on the market recently.

I guess the V inertia thing is easy to solve and actually a welcomed feature for suiting the track. In fact, it's been around for quite sometime since the mini lit board.

But hopefully, KO will soon release new feature/software to solve the delayed reverse. Right now, it still can't reverse by demand, like it does on AD band board...

Unluckily, I don't think the V-inertia is a welcomed feature as it keeps the car going for a while even when I stop pulling the trigger. Unlike what you said, it actually makes it difficult to run fast on a track. I found the preset value of the AD pcb has no problem so I did not need to use the software but that's not the case for the 2.4GHz pcb.

so do u suggest the V-intertia be switched to off so that the car will perform according to the characteristic of the motor?

As the matter of fact, yes (to the 1st part of your question). You can prove that yourself if you run it on a track with more short straights and tighter turns.

For track runners, if the motor stalls more easily, a better way is to set the car again to give a better traction to the rear tyres instead of activating the V-inertia. (But I found that if a motor stalls too easily, it is usually not a good motor for a track as it can't sprint on a longer straight, ie., it has a lower max. speed. A motor with a new rotor and 2 slightly weakened silver magnets is usually faster.)

Of course, we have to assume all types of friction, such as those caused by poor gear meshing or worn out bearings, being kept to the minimum.

I guess the V-inertia function can only be useful when a car tends to oversteer or under the condition when the traction is low.

Yes and no to that. It is for sure a welcomed feature in a sense that a driver can now have the option to take away from unnecessary/prolonged coasting from the 2.4G board(which cannot be done without the program), and might be useful for those who wants the coasting or to adjust it for the purpose of the track/use, such as 02 drivers or long endurance race on RCP (such as 1 hour race) where tires switching will waste time that one cannot afford.

But I do agree with the comments on V inertia not desirable since I do run many short sprints/hairpin turns on RCP.

Did you mean "take away prolonged coasting"? But I guess the 'V-inertia feature' is to 'GIVE' a prolonged coasting, not to 'take it away'!

Also, thanks to allblue that we have this as a description of V.Inertia :

"What it is: When you abruptly cut the throttle, the speed control will slowly ramp down the throttle instead of instantly cutting the throttle.

Effect: Strong means throttle will ramp down slowly when throttle is cut. Off means the ramp down program is turned off.

A good setting: Use V.Inertia control to slow the car down smoothly. Smooth rolling the throttle on and off is the fastest way around the track."

Thanks for the typo correction, and I stand corrected.

Yes, indeed, taken away the unnecessary coasting.  Because the stock 2.4G board v-inertia setting is set in the middle(value=3), and by re-setting it to a 'weaker' value ("off"), it is essentially turning off the 'ramp down' program(what you did) and allow it to behave more like an adband board.

Basically solving what you have described as in another post problem no.2 :"stops slowly even when your Tx return to neutral".
