the craftmanship of the first one is very very poor....I wonder if u can install the cylinder into the crankcase successfully....maybe u need to force it into the crankcase.....

But generally, dont suggest u to do so.....for most engines, their crankcase design for transfer ports is ok...no need to do cutting in engine case....most likely the cutting will be required in boost port...but dont recommend u to do so....because its skill and craftmanship is more challanging than modification on cylinder...
By the way, based on your photos, your craftmanship also has room for improvement. 1st - your tools ....it seems that your rotational speed of your tool is not high enough or u ar using very rough cutting bits for modification......the surface is too rough na.....2nd - cutting on engine parts should be achieved by polishing but not by direct adding force on cylinder surface....u add too much force on the cylinder surface during modification....those force will deform the cylinder....IF u really want to use the engine again, please do some minor minor polishing inside the cylinder very carefully and do 1 tank of engine break-in at idle speed before running the engine....
moreover, such kind of modification would not improve the engine performance too much...only improve little bit and u will observe the running temperature will be lower little bit than before
