what is the difference between XBR Sport / EX8.5 Brushless System (#3030) and GTB/SS8.5 Pro Brushless System (#3008) ?
They are the same ising 8.5 R motor but the one is XBR another one is GTB.

one is sport, another is pro system

they use different 8.5R motors

you can check the differences in terms of data from the teamnovak website.

Given that we don't need too much power for drift system, I think XBR/EX8.5 is more than enough when taking performance/price into consideration. Normally I think I will use a 23T(11.5R in brushless) or 27T (13.5R in brushless)such that no excess power is wasted while we can play longer each time.

Yes, i know using drift system doesnt need too much power. I am looking for 8.5 or 10.5.brushless system
But XBR is usd.169 and GTB usd 259. I really want to know whcih one is better, if i using this for long term play....

So if i buy GTB ,i can use 3.5 turn  motor for it ,but XBR only can use 8.5 turn

On the other hand, the Rated  Current and Braking Current ,GTB is 540 XBR is 120.....
What is the two current used to?

GTB is designed for racing while XBR is for general purpose. There is a great difference in their technical specification. Of course GTB is equiped with high-performance functionality such as higher rated current and lower resistance while it has 5 throttle profiles (XBR has 3 only). So if you plan to use motor faster than 8.5R, it must be GTB for you to choose.

thx~ i think i buy XBR is enough for me!

becox playing dirft doesnt use motor faster than 8.5R

Most of the shops in KWS. XBR+motor around $1300.

Anyone can comment on the Speed Passion line of Brushless ESC & motor? Or you can send me the discussion thread for this brand of products.

I got 2 11.5R of Speed Passion. One shaft was found bent while another was out of order after two months (sunday driver only). Then I would prefer other brands for higher quality and durability. Anyway, this was only my experience. Maybe I am not lucky enough.

Interesting, I'd have thought that there would be lotsa Brushless manufacturers coming out of mainland and would give the traditional foreign big names (Novxk, LxP) a run for the money. Guess quality issue still dodge the mainland products as this moment.

Agreed. I learnt that Orion is using Speed Passion (OEM) but with better QC. That's why there is price different.
