I don't agree using gyro in race but I think it is a good way for beginners to practice how to play a rwd car because it is really hard for beginners to go fast and stable with a rwd. They can adjust the magnitude of the gyro and decrease it a little at a time, until they don't need the assistance from the gyro anymore.

I like Gyro devices in F1 RC because it makes driver like us (Not so good) better and more able to compete. Especially with direct drive chassis F1 cars, it gives it more chance against independent suspension cars like FGX. Gyro is not for everyone, some drivers prefer not to have Gyro installed because it actually slows them down or change their driving style. Whether it is allowed or not for races should depend on the race organizers. Japan's F1RCGP, and China's SGP1 both allow Gyro devices just like FIA allowing Traction Control in the real F1 cars. Some people may say it is not fair, but not fair is only if you cannot obtain a Gyro device while others can, in this case, many brands (Zen, HPI DBox, Futaba G190, etc...) make Gyro device everyone can buy on open market, so it is fair. So I am in favor of allowing Gyro for F1 races.作者: lrr174 時間: 2012-1-18 11:17 本帖最後由 lrr174 於 2012-1-18 11:21 編輯

I am a poor F1 driver, understand what gyro is but didn't play with it before.
Assuming it's not too expensive (I don't know the price at all) and easily get one from the market, I think it's fun to allow it in racing to fit different style of racer. I guess it's like driving Auto-transmission or Manual in 1:1 car racing, AT may be easier for those beginner want to get a trial at track but at the cost of additional overheads induced, i.e. power lose, and for sure professional racer will properly prefer the more direct/simple method for getting more control out of it, i.e. MT. After all, it's fair game as long as compile to the racing rule set.
Btw, interested to know the tracking difference between traditional F103/4 direct drive vs FGX out of it's design. Thanks Ching.作者: Scania 時間: 2012-1-21 22:23
