Yes - more difficult to control. And no need 5.5T as the RPM will be too high.
Many C-Hing (and in race events) use 17.5T, with ESC Turbo, are already fast on the straights (can catch touring car sometimes). RWD (F1) are harder to drive than 4WD in cornering so need more precise control; but with 5.5T for example, may make it even more difficult in cornering. In F1 races with 17.5T standards, the cars are very quick with the top drivers (and exciting to watch in my opinion, and very scale like ).
Advantage of 17.5T with turbo is that you only need the power on straight and not during cornering, so should be best of both worlds. Also, the setup will be very efficient and the battery lasts a lot longer. (I get 15-20 min run with 3000 25C, which is economical).

I have the 9t/4300Kv hobbywing motor. what gearing should I use for JV? Is it too fast? Thx 作者: yung2yee 時間: 2011-5-6 11:03
9t or 10t is ok. Gearing is around 1:4 up and down. This is my favourable.
