標題: Bouncy Pajero
Hi all, finally with a few helps from brothers of this website, I finally take the Pajero out for the first run!
My impression is..... BOUNCY! Maybe it's because I use 4300 batteries which makes the rear even heavier but it is even more "bouncier" than the WW2 or LB with black motor! But overall it's fun to play with.... Any brother wants to join some vintage playing ma??

We were so lucky to meet up a very knowledge guy who has been playing RC racing for a very long time and show up with his beautiful Tamiya SS.... Never seen one in actual person myself but man, when I see it, why doesn't Tamiya makes those metal parts for RCs anymore.... This thing is super heavy, metal gear box, metal swing arms... metal this... metal that..... Awesome!

I took the WW2 out as well... Unfortunately my finacee ran it into a water spot and I unplug the batteries right away before it does any further damages..... Thank got nothing happen to it....
I want to run this Pajero for a long time ga la.... Besides, I have a NIB at home in case I want to make a shelf queen.....

different ga... u know mike has special attachment to this 1984 babe...
after the run its condition is still very good la. It was great fun! Too bad ur monster beetle wasn't here.

hahaha...love to see your pajero reborn......in my own opinion...RC should be run...even slow run......not just as a shelf queen la....when your vintage run ......u can see it lives.......really have a life..........just like this little pajero......"bouncy" is her personality!!!!!!!!

hmmm... I might take the consideration on that 5 cell thing.......
But yes, totally agree with you, this Pajero was sitting on the shelf for over half a year and watching it run yesterday makes me think of the old days..... all I am missing is a "stick" controller.......

Hey, I found the place in TKO is not terriable for Vintage offroads... if you play slow and a day without the water, damages isn't terriable at all... I rolled the Pajero a few times in slow speed and the damage is acceptable.... The only problem I have is the spare tire cover got scratched from all the wheelie action.. but all I need to do is sand it down and reapray the spare tire cover again... nothing major thank god....

This site refreshes my 30+ years rc life. Nice to meet Mike and J and another gentleman with a Lunchbox, sorry I forget your name, last Sunday.
I am sure there are friends on this site and thread whom I had met or raced with in the past. I will recognise you when we meet ands say hello. My first rc car race was the electric car race hosted by YMCA in 卜公花園 at Sheung Wan and my last race was the Tamiya Asian Cup at Hollywood Plaza at 2002. Some people may be able to identiy me at this point.

Just took out my Sand Scorcher two weeks ago and restored it as a runner. I tried to restore it with some flexibility of settings so it is not "original"
The front damper is a Kyosho Optima's so that I can adjusted the ride height and rolling
The esc is a Novak cyclone with a small cooling fan
The battery... don't get me wrong the 1700 mixed with the 2000,....it is merely a rematching exercise of some old cells and the figures of the matcher tell me they should be happy together....
I have omitted the motor cover since it does not fit well with the Johnson 540 , instead the motor is held down with three short metal posts and screws, result is not bad and there is no need to dremel away the notch inside the gearbox so as to mount the motor with one screw.
The torsion type rear suspension is dropped out too. A better rear camber is obtained here but the stroke of the damper is probably inadequate.
Any SS runner out there???? H~e~l~l~o~~~
Any buggy racer remember the electric buggy race held in the field track at Tuen Mun with TVB (and Miss HK) attended....Can't remeber if it was won by Mr Leung Ka Man or Chen Wai Hung or other???

Thanks for sharing your story Mr. Polarbear..... You have given us some valuable lessons and story about the RC racing this pass weekend. Please give J a call next time when you plan on doing some Vintage playing......
Besides, I think we are trying to organize a "Vintage Play Day" within the month, please check old posts for details....

Trust me, I was being REALLY REALLY careful....

Only rolled 3 times at slow speed.... the only major damage for after the play was the spare tire cover scartches from doing wheelies....

This was my DREAM 20 years ago.... Good thing you had one... Where is it now? Maybe we can bring her back to life!!!
Repro? I don't think so la... Since the "cat" is not as popular as those Lunchbox/WW/Grasshopper.... my guess is if they do repros, they might use WW2's chassis...... but like brother beat says, it's mission impossible....
