標題: RX540VZ motor
Bros
I played with my 17yrs old RC10T over the X'mas holiday and by accident the motor was damaged. Most likely due to rusty connector. Is any bros know where can I buy spare parts for the RX540VZ ?
Also, any bros know where can I find 48 pitch drive gear. I went to a few RC shop but they said no supplies.

VZ 的 PARTS 就好難搵了 . .. . ..

已前PARTS得炭擦，去興記或者兆X隆，不過我諗舉搵0個隻VZ易 D

Personally I prefer to use it rather than keep/save it. Buying new stuff is easy, but the interest to PLAY (not keep/save) with antique stuff is memory over speed. I respect bros (I think mostly of my generation) rebuilt old car like new one and collect/keep NIB for memory. But my way of memory is to dig it out and play. This is purely personal feeling, if it makes any bros unhappy I apologize.
I will try to solder the parts and re-use. If resistance too high I will change a black pig...and to put the VZ back in box and keep it rusting!! [attach]215340[/attach]

Bro Gimsink, My 540Vz gets the same fault as yours. What I did was to solder the wire to other position of the brush mount. It works fine.

I had tried both Trinity and Reedy on my RC10. However, I found that these old school motor consumed too much power but without a reasonable preformance. The motors were very hot but with a speed like today's 23T. I also tried the old Tamiya 540Vz and Dynatech motor. Honestly, these old day Mabachi motor were better than the US stuff.

The VZ and Dynatech are good in "Troque", so they away jump out in starting line. However, this turn only 19,000 rmp

And drang the current is too high 14A for VZ, so the play time relative shoter.

同意......當年小弟用佢嚟玩 959......速度相當高.....

不過如果將 540VZ 用落其他 1/10 buggy 裡面.......效果就非常一般.....

原來如此，當年我都係剛剛再玩返車時買，砌好哂落地，非常驚喜原裝跟車摩打會咁快，因為我停0左冇玩車幾年，對上0個部係草蜢

Yes I had Reedy & HPI but these old motor draw too much current, extreme hot and short run time per pack ( but faster ), the VZ gets good balance against run time & speed. I prefer longer run time now, just for fun with my boy, not racing with bros anymore la.....

I suddently have an idea to buy a BL motor/ESC set to replace the VZ on my RC10.
Because I want to extend the play time for each battery pack. Can any bros advise :

1/. how much time longer in time % can I play by BL set ?
2/. what turn motor should I select for my RC10 (original gear ratio)?
3/. can BL ESC be connected to my antique 20yrs 29MHz AM EX-5 ?

Never use BL before, my knowledge still in the AM, MegaFET ESC, Modified motor level....

Bro gimsink, I install a HobbyWing 9T BL (~18T brush motor) in my RC10T. The truck runs very fast and the running time is around 15 min with a 3500mah Lipo. The receiver that I use is the one comes with the antique 20 yrs old FM EX-10.

The RC10 comes with a 87 tooth spur car (#6695) and the internal gear ratio of the sheath gear box is 2.25. I use a 20T pinion gear resulting in a overal gear ratio of (87/20) x 2.25 = 9.78.

BTW, what I am going to do is to dig out my old cake 540VZ and install it in the vintage RC10 gold tub buggy
