We are extremely proud to debut the fantastic new Formula Ten kit,designed to replicate the thrills and excitement of the fastest formulacar racing series in the world! Since the release of the original HPISuper F1 (our first-ever car kit) we've been waiting for the idealopportunity to release an all-new chassis designed around the mostexciting racing cars the world has ever seen! With the full-sizeformula cars piloted by determined racers, managed by flamboyant teamprincipals and driven around glamorous tracks in exotic locales, wecouldn't think of a better type of car kit to challenge our chassis andbody designers!
The Formula Ten is an easy to drive, simple to build replica of thecars that millions of racing fans around the world love to watch inaction, and it's the ideal starting point for motorsports fan of anyage or ability level, whether it's your first car or your twentieth.
Fantastic Scale Looks
The Formula Ten features realistically scaled dimensions such aswheelbase, width, tyre size and more, allowing you to faithfullyre-create your favorite team's livery and do battle with rivals out onthe track. There is truly nothing like the excitement of seeing a fullgrid of formula cars painted in replica colors, waiting for the lightsto go out!
The first things you'll notice are the realistic front and rear wingswith all of the fantastic shapes and curves of the real cars. Theseinjection-molded, high-impact plastic pieces work as bumpers and asfunctional aerodynamic devices. They definitely won't come off aseasily as the wings on the real cars! Optional nose pieces and wingswill be available that will allow you to replicate a variety of pastand future formula cars.
The tyres included with the Formula Ten kit will be molded slicktyres in a real rubber compound, at the right size and proportion. HPIwill also offer a variety of optional tyre compounds and types, fortuning and high performance racing applications.
Completing the amazing scale detail is the awesome 5-piecepolycarbonate body, which features a variety of scoops, winglets andbarge boards that allow you to re-create your favorite racing team fromthe 'winglet and chimney' era! A scale helmet is included, allowing youto copy the helmet design of your favorite driver or make your owndesign.
The look and feel of the Formula Ten is enhanced by its authenticscale size - the Formula Ten is almost exactly 1/10th the size of thereal thing!
Easy to Tune and Upgrade
The Formula Ten is a 'T-bar' style 'pan car', which makes it very easyto set up and highly resistant to damage, so it's perfect forbeginners, club racers and fun running. It’s rear wheel drive just likea real formula car, making it less complicated than a 4WD car.
A selection of standard parts are included in the Formula Ten kit tomake it easy to set up for all drivers, regardless of skill orexperience level. Precision aluminum rear hubs are included for minimalrear axle vibration, and they're both anodized in bright HPI orange forcool looks. A strong steel axle adds strength to the rear end and makesit extra-durable. The front suspension uses a simple ball-connect andcoil spring design for easy tuning - just use softer springs to addmore front grip, or stiffer springs for less grip. The rear suspensionis designed around the FRP T-bar and friction shock for simple andrugged operation, and the 3-gear bevel rear differential makes basicrear grip tuning an easy matter.
The durable construction and simple design doesn't mean you won't beable to hop up the Formula Ten and add options. If you're an advanceddriver or dedicated racer you'll be able to fine-tune the handling ofthe chassis, just like a real formula team! Whether you want to addcorning grip, more speed, faster acceleration or just a bit of style tothe chassis, we'll have an array of options that will turn aback-of-the-grid car into a pole-sitting beast! Graphite chassis partsadd chassis stiffness, option tuning springs allow you to add grip, atuned center shock will enhance rear grip, an aluminum motor mount willkeep your motor cool, a ball differential will enhance rear grip, andmany more option parts will be available to totally customize and tuneyour own formula racing car.
Build It Yourself
The Formula Ten will be available in kit form with a clear body. Thesimplicity of the design makes it an easy way to get into the RC hobbyand learn about assembly, mechanics, electronics and chassis tuning. Acomplete assembly manual is included. Add your own radio transmitter,steering servo, receiver, electronic speed controller (ESC),standard-size 540 motor, 4-cell 4.8v stick-pack battery with charger,and finally your choice of paint color. Standard-size electroniccomponents will fit easily in the chassis, so no expensive microelectronics are needed.
