油改電摩打双速齒................there are NO NEED to use 2-speed if using electric motor.

双速 - only need for NITRO engine because nitro engine (or any engine) does not has the instant torque to spool up the RPM....thats why when it accelerate, it will need a bigger spur to spool up to the RPM then shift to the 2nd gear for TOP SPEED.

Electric motor has INSTANT TORQUE...no reason and no need to have 双速...we have tested 双速 with electric motor and the problem is the INSTANT ELECTRIC SPIKE (peak amp power) draw back to the motor then to the ESC, it will BURN the ESC as when the car shifted to the 2nd speed...the AMP DRAW will draw back to the electric motor(like the 2nd speed is actually CHARGING back the power back to the motor) and it will transfer to the ESC and it will blew up the cap, then the ESC motor....

Also, when it shift...the WHOLE CAR WILL BE stalled for like 1/2 of a second and it will suddenly shifted like the car is on BOOST...totally useless and totally unnecessary....

Get a faster motor (like Speed Passion 2750) and better LIPO and gear up...use dynamic timing and it will achieve the top speed.

Actually, my GT8 is a Traxxas Slash 4x4 SCT convert to GT8e...car is like 40% lighter then the typical 1/8th GT, and I am using only 2 cells lipos...with Reventon PRO V1.1 ESC, along with the Speed Passion 550 size 5500kv SCT motor....with TURBO setting. Car is just as fast as the typical GT8 due to the weight of the car is much lighter then true 1/8th.....btw, Slash 4x4 is the same as as the SHORT BASE 1/8th GT just like HN and Serpent Cobra so only can use short base body.

All you need to do is find out from your friend that used the 孖速 ....what was their 2nd pinion gear (tooth) and their 2nd gear spur (tooth)......then use that gearing on your motor (still single speed)...possible need a LOWER KW motor (if you have 2750, you might want 2450) to accomodate the low end punch...by calculation, there is NO WAY your car is slower then the other...unless they are using better lipo, better motor and better esc...

What was your gearing may I ask..? The speed is excellent.....I am running SA2 ESC with 2750 SP Blaze motor with 4 cells....21/44 but I think I can go higher....

暴風..............you too want to join..? To be honest, I thought you have a used 960....960 share the same format has 966. And Speed Passion has the motor mount and spur gear conversion for the SERPENT (only serpent) and you can buy that. Then...you can DIY for a carbon fiber chassis and place above the aluminum chassis for SPLIT BATTERIES setup....that way you can mount TWO 2S lipo....or Two 3S lipo left and right.

Just have to determine which one you use....4S is easier for the ESC but you need some fast motor like 2750kv from SP....if you decide to run 6S, your choice of ESC will be very limited....I think no more then 2-3 brands can support 6S and you need slower motor like 1800-1900. Overall...I think at JV, you should use 2750 and 4S....you can probably buy a used 960 with OS2 suspension, the SP conversion kit then DIY your split chassis....

You can also find 966-E parts and convert on 960.....also, it will also work on the older unit like 950 or 950R.

The Awefulmatix is now back to Awesomatix...I still haven't try it but with some help at the Awesomatix USA and Ivan...at least, it is back in 1 piece, one EXPENSIVE piece.

I just mounted my 960 with the new SP 2750 motor running the Silver Arrow 2 ESC with the 966-E conversion kit on my 960....I've got the whole car used for around $200 USD....so I am sure you can probably picked one up used for around that price...probably even a 966. Montonica will only be new, and probably hard to get parts....MUGEN should be cheap, but you will need someone to machine you a spur gear adaptor and motor mount.

I think the cheapest way to go is get a Serpent...buy the conversion kit from Serpent 966-E (I see Dinball still has the 966-E conversion kits for sale OR at least the spur gear adaptor and motor mount)....if not, try Speed Passion (Lam Sir) or contact me....then, you can cut yourself a FIBER BOARD or CARBON FIBER (prefer at least 3mm thick) and create your own split battery chassis....then drill some holes on the main chassis and mount the board above. Then the rest are DIY using battery straps and stuff...

One advise I can tell you...try run 4S with fast motor......the ideal is 6S with slow motor however I don't think there are ANY good ESC that can prolong the power of 6S.

Also...don't bother to run 2 speed....2-speed willl kill the motor and ESC due to the shifitng = back feed power to the motor/ESC. I have seen alot of motor/esc on fire due to 2-speed.........and it ain't any faster.

Yes....I do like that NSX body...I still have one, unpainted and got that like 6-7 years ago and It was pretty expensive......It is from Japan brand that I don't remember. However, with the GT bodies from TEAM C, I am sure the 平8 will be able to use those.
