ching, can normal esc (ie tpm5, over ten years ago) be used for brushless motor?

thank you ching. how much is it for using powerful brushless motors? i only require a durable esc.

at the time being, i am playing inferno. nevertheless, i would like to make good my old kyosho ep which was installed with tpm5. i forget its name but it is a 4 wd and belt driven touring car. its transmission is similar to optima mid.
